You'll need to make a 'data file' for the stamp to achieve this. Stamps can have other qualities in addition to a graphical form, a description, and a sound effect. If you're clipping them, make sure the document is big enough to hold the form. Make sure the SVG stamp is no larger than the shape(s) within if your new SVG stamps appear to have a lot of whitespaces. If all of your new PNG stamps have solid rectangular-shaped outlines of a solid hue, it's because you didn't apply alpha transparency (e.g., white or black). ![]() SVGs are vector-based files that will be scaled in Tux Paint to fit the canvas size. Tux Paint has a set of scaling buttons by default, allowing the user to scale the stamp up (larger) or down (smaller). The alpha (transparency) channel in PNGs is used to determine the image's true shape (otherwise, your drawings will be stamped with a huge rectangle). There's a way to set a different default window size, but this is done via a separate application called Tux Paint Config, or via editing a config file manually. I initially thought it was a bug, but after some minor digging, found that this is expected behavior across all platforms. The only option was to minimize or close. The app window opened comically small to start, but I found that there was no way to resize it. I just starting showing my kid how to use it on a new laptop, running Ubuntu. I've tinkered with this application for a few years now via Windows, Mac OS and Android, but never really delved into it until today. I cannot imagine a teacher running around managing this app in a classroom of kids. ![]() I had been recommending it to educator friends, but now I realize it was quite irresponsible of me. The devs have made an incredibly useful and fun tool for kids, but hampered it by ignoring some essential functionality. ![]()
